BHUTAN TRUST FUND FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

National Workshop on Nature Finance Pathway Held in Thimphu

On 8 August 2025, the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB), Conservation International (CI), Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF), and Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) formalized a landmark partnership to scale up forest restoration and advance long-term conservation in Bhutan.

Under CI’s Mountains to Mangroves initiative, the partners aim to restore up to 50,000 hectares of degraded land over the next decade—boosting climate resilience, safeguarding biodiversity, and supporting sustainable development.

Delegates from CI led by Dr. Richard Jeo, Senior Vice President and Chief Field Officer for Asia, also participated in the event.
