Mr. Tshering Dorji is currently the Director General, Department of Macro-Fiscal and Development Finance under the Ministry of Finance. His key responsibilities include external resource mobilization, coordination of macro-fiscal policies, donor coordination and government debt management. He is the Operational Focal Point to the Global Environment Facility (GEF),
the National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Designated Authority to the Adaptation Fund (AF).

Prior to assuming this post, he worked as an Advisor in the Office of Executive Director representing Bangladesh, Bhutan, India & Sri Lanka at the World Bank HQ, Washington D.C.,USA from Jan. 2023-Jan 2024.

Mr. Dorji adds to his professional career, over 28 years of experience in the public service having taken various other key positions, including, as the Director in the Department of Treasury and Accounts, Ministry of Finance (2017- 2022), Head of the Debt Management Division (2014-2016) and Secretary to the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly
of Bhutan (2006-2007).

His professional engagement includes the Voice Secondment Program (VSP) with the World Bank Group, Washington D.C., USA; the Executive Education Program at Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA; and the Executive Leadership Program at the IndianInstitute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, India.

Apart from holding many senior positions in the Government, Mr. Dorji also represents Ministry of Finance in the Boards of Director of Corporations, Financial Institutions, Trust Funds, CSOs and Projects. He was also a member to various working committees under the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Dorji has an MBA from the School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, Postgraduate Certificate Course in Financial Management from Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan and Bachelors of Commerce (Honors) from Delhi University, India. He is a member of CPA Australia.

Mr. Dorji is married and has a daughter.
