The Climate Adaptation, Resilience and Engagement of Local Governments (CARE-LG) Project Management Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management (DLGDM) and with support from the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF), the Green Climate Fund’s Direct Access Entity (DAE) for Bhutan, is conducting a Training of Trainers (ToT) from 7 – 13 September 2026.
The ToT aims to build a pool of competent local facilitators equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver tailored climate adaptation awareness and training at the Gewog and Dzongkhag levels.
As a core component of the CARE-LG Project’s capacity-building strategy, the training brings together 22 participants, including representatives from the Project Management Unit, Technical Advisory Committee, Gewog and Dzongkhag administrations, and local leadership.
This investment goes beyond training – it creates a multiplier effect, enabling trained facilitators to share knowledge, strengthen local institutions, and reach more communities with practical and locally relevant climate adaptation solutions.
Following the ToT, the trained facilitators will support climate adaptation sensitization and awareness activities across Gewogs and Dzongkhags, contributing to stronger institutional capacity, greater local ownership, and the sustainability of climate resilience interventions under the CARE-LG Project.
By investing in people, knowledge, and local ownership, CARE-LG is laying the foundation for stronger climate resilience and sustainable impact – well beyond the project period.
