The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) is pleased to welcome Mr. Karma Tenzin as our new Chief Program Officer, Environment and Climate Change Services.
Mr. Karma Tenzin brings over 17 years of experience in results-based management (RBM), strategic planning, environmental and social safeguards, and sustainable development.
Prior to joining BTF, he served for six years as Senior Manager for Results-Based Management and Safeguards at WWF-Bhutan, where he led quality assurance, strategic alignment, environmental and social risk management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with safeguard standards across projects.
Before his tenure at WWF-Bhutan, Mr. Karma Tenzin served the Royal Government of Bhutan for more than 11 years, taking on leadership roles as District Agriculture Officer in Punakha, Zhemgang, and Wangdue Phodrang. During this time, he contributed to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for several donor-funded projects, while also gaining extensive experience in financial management, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Water Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. His multidisciplinary experience and commitment to conservation and sustainable development will further strengthen BTF’s efforts to advance impactful environmental and climate action in Bhutan.
