The Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting of the Restore Bhutan Project with members from Conservation International (CI), Department of Forests & Park Services (DoFPS), Bhutan Ecological Society (BES), and the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) was held today, on 1st May 2026, at the BTF Secretariat.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation from Conservation International conducted field visits from 27–30 April 2026 to potential restoration sites under the Wangdue Phodrang, Gedu, and Samtse Forest Divisions to assess ongoing and future restoration opportunities.
The discussions highlighted the strong potential for scaling up ecosystem restoration efforts across larger landscapes in Bhutan through strengthened collaboration, technical engagement, and strategic partnerships.
