Bhutan Ecological Society
The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) and the Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) share a common vision of promoting environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience in Bhutan. Through this partnership, BTF and BES collaborate to foster environmental stewardship, support scientific research, and actively engage youth and communities in conservation initiatives.
In FY 2023-24, BTF contributed Nu 15,000,000.00 to support BES’s flagship project—the establishment of a Bio-Waste to Bio-Gas and Bio-Fertilizer Conversion Plant at Memeylakha. This initiative manages green waste generated in Thimphu City while producing bio-gas, promoting a circular economy.
Together, BTF and BES strive to build a more informed, responsible, and resilient society, safeguarding Bhutan’s natural heritage for future generations.
