The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) in partnership with the Snow Leopard Trust (SLT) is organizing a two-day Strategic Partnership Workshop that commenced today at Thimphu, bringing together key experts from the Nature Conservation Division (NCD) to strengthen collaboration for the conservation of Bhutan’s iconic snow leopard and its fragile high mountain ecosystems.
During the first half of the day, the NCD presented Bhutan’s vision and priorities for snow leopard conservation, the SLT shared its global expertise and partnership approach, and the BTF highlighted its role in supporting conservation initiatives. Together, participants explored key conservation challenges, identified opportunities for collaboration, and discussed ways to strengthen collective efforts to conserve snow leopards and Bhutan’s unique high mountain ecosystems.
The workshop saw the NCD presenting on the impacts made through the implementation of the Snow Leopard Conservation Action Plan, 2024-2033 through existing partnership with #WWFBhutan, #Bhutanforlife, #BhutanFoundation, #UNDP, #GEF, and #BTF amongst others.
The workshop will conclude tomorrow with collaborative sessions focused on defining partnership expectations and jointly drafting the key elements of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BTF and SLT to guide future cooperation.
