Coinciding with the celebration of the 36th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, the Royal Patron of Environment, the Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTF) officially inaugurated its dedicated office at ChoeGo, Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), marking a significant milestone in strengthening environmental sustainability within Bhutanโs most transformative development initiative.
The office was inaugurated by the Honโble Governor of Gelephu Mindfulness City, in the presence of the Honโble Chairperson and the Managing Director of BTF, esteemed representatives from the GMC Authority, government agencies, development partners, local leaders, and stakeholders from the environmental and conservation sectors.
The program also included the offering of Zhabten for Her Majestyโs everlasting happiness and long life, reflecting heartfelt gratitude and reverence on this auspicious occasion. In addition, a rental agreement between the GMC Authority and BTF was formally signed, further strengthening institutional collaboration in advancing environmental conservation within GMC.
The establishment of this office reflects BTFโs commitment to supporting His Majesty The Kingโs vision for GMC by advancing environmental stewardship, fostering strategic partnerships, and promoting innovative conservation finance solutions for sustainable, resilient, and nature-positive development.
As the worldโs first environmental trust fund, BTF remains dedicated to ensuring that environmental conservation stays at the heart of Bhutanโs development journey, creating lasting benefits for both people and nature.
