Royal Society for Protection of Nature
The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTFEC) is a key supporter and financial partner of the Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN). From July 1998 to June 2003, BTF provided a core institutional grant, supporting RSPN’s work in education, research, sustainable livelihoods, staffing, and institutional capacity development, including the White-bellied Heron Recovery Plan, helping the organization build a strong foundation and achieve financial self-reliance.
BTFEC also supported the introduction of the Environmental Science curriculum in Class X and the conservation of the critically endangered White-bellied Heron.BTF is currently supporting RSPN’s accreditation as Bhutan’s second National Implementing Entity (NIE) to the Adaptation Fund, with BTFEC being the country’s only accredited NIE, enabling direct access to climate finance. Established in 1987, RSPN is a citizen-based NGO dedicated to environmental conservation.
